Session 3.1
Lab: Everyday Uses of Adaptive Components for Structural
Synopsis:
This session will show how adaptive components can be utilized to assist in day to day modelling tasks. It will also show how adaptive components can be used in places where there are everyday limitations within Revit.
Learning Objectives:
1. Understand Adaptive Components
2. Gain a knowledge of points and how to utilize them
3. Understand how to effectively place and use adaptive component families in a project
Body:
This session is going to show every day real world examples of adaptive component families that can be by structural engineers, not just for conceptual massing. Examples may include: rod and clevis family that can easily be placed in 3D, stepped foundations, thickened slab that will follow the wall above and adjust with the slab thickness, connection plates, other situations where the family needs to adapt with the model. This session will go through the steps to use adaptive template families and the nuances involved with them. As a bonus you will be able to download all of the families shown in the session.
