Synopsis:

The challenge of delivering and auditing the ‘information’ in the model. Why and what this new requirement is and why data has become so important.

– Who wants the Data?
– What data do they want?
– Who provides the Data?
– What are they going to do with it?

We are going to look at 3 case studies (unnamed) which will look at the process and challenges of delivery data (digital information).

Learning Objectives:

1. Learn about some of the obstacles faced when defining Asset Information requirements and Project Information requirements

2. The challenge behind the procurement of data and the gaps and pitfalls behind the delivery of data

3. Not all data is easy to deliver, and just because you have asked for it doesn’t mean you get it the challenges behind validation and verification of data

Body:

The presentation will look at the progress how the information (data) in models was just used for providing information on models to being used for some calculations and the very verifying room data sheets (a brief look at dRofus). The introduction PAS 1192 and data drops, how this confused and impacted the industry. The transition to ISO19650.

Once we have outlined a brief history of how we arrived at this point we will look at the following points:
– Who wants the Data?
– What data do they want?
– Who provides the data?
– What are they going to do with it?

We are going to look at 3 case studies (unnamed) which will look at different stages of the process:
– Working with clients to define information requirement.
– Working with teams to deliver the information requirements
– Auditing, validating checking these requirements have been met

The presentation will show the challenges faced, the effort required, the development tools which were needed to deliver outcomes audit outcomes. It will also include a brief look at some applications which are utilising information post-construction. We will also look at some different applications which are appearing to enhance current construction projects.
We will also look at some of the upcoming challenges and opportunities this will present industry.
