Synopsis:

Software vendor marketing always paints their competitors as inferior! In this session, two experts in their chosen BIM Authoring software will face off in a 12 round fight. We will look into the processes and deliverable that consults and designers face each day. The 12 rounds will look at specific processes, and will be scored based on select criteria to provide individuals with an unbiased review of both tools.

Learning Objectives:

1. Learn what program best suits your needs for the chosen design problem, practice size or team skills

2. Learn about each application Pros and Cons and why one program might suit your needs

3. Learn how to cut through the Marketing spin that each company has to get to the key facts

Body:

We will look at the Pro’s and Con’s of each Authoring Software, where they succeed and where they fall over. Both experts will throw blows at each other, through their software to find out which tool wins the, “BIM Authoring Software, Champion of the World”

Each round will focus on the OOTB tools provided by the software vendors, with the expert providing advise or comment on each process. They will also discuss what is required by the user to enhance the quality of the tool to make the process work for the model authors. We will also present a Steroid round where we provide users with detail of potential add-ons and additional tools that can be used by users to rectify OOTB weaknesses.

The intention of this presentation is to provide a unbiased review of both tools which informs users of individual strengths and weaknesses so that users can potentially make an informed decision on the tool they use to best align with their business needs.
