Body:
Design for manufacturing and assembly (DfMA) is a well-established approach in industries that have historically been about designing a product that can be mass produced such as automotive. Construction projects like hospitals, schools and hotels are very repetitive in nature and can be scaled similar to a manufacturing product.
As the APAC Industry Strategy Manager for Autodesk Construction Solutions, Sumit Oberoi is at the forefront of construction industry advancements, trends and drivers for change. There are a number of factors influencing current and emerging construction trends and Sumit will explain the push to more streamlined approaches like DfMA, globally and locally.
Allan Comello is currently employed as the DfMA Operations Manager at Built and under his leadership has overseen multi-stage construction projects utilizing DfMA to achieve better outcomes.
Damian Parker is a highly driven construction professional with a strong history as a consultant and designer. He has extensive experience in product development, design management, business development and project management in the fields of DfMA, modular construction, mass timber construction, steel fabrication, façade treatments, metalwork and manufacturing for the construction industry.
