Information management (IM) concerns a cycle of organisational activity: the acquisition of information from one or more sources, the custodianship and the distribution of that information to those who need it, and its ultimate disposal through archiving or deletion.
Everyone in an organisation is responsible for the management of project information whether that it is through setting up the project to delivering documents for construction.
This session will cover the following topics about information management in context to the AEC industry:
1. What is information management and what are common types of information used on projects
2. What constitutes good or bad project information and how this can affect project outcomes including examples that leaders in the industry are using to promote good practices.
3. What can be done to influence behaviours that promote good information management practices
4. How user experience can be important in promoting good information management practices.
This session will provide easy to implement learnings including an example utilising Microsoft Power Automate to streamline a simple administrative project creation process.
This session will discuss strategies and conversations that you can have with your management team so that the organisation can develop a plan for good information management practices after you return from BILT ANZ.
