Session 1.4
Simply Writing a BIM Execution Plan – Lessons from The Field
Synopsis:
David Foley and Jason Howden will debate, maybe argue, but ultimately share lessons learned from the field in what makes a ‘good’ BIM Execution Plan.
Together they will bring over two decades worth of knowledge and insights in crafting BEPs on some of Australasia’s most significant projects from hospitals to hotels, airports to data centres, trenches to toolboxes this class is sure to shed insights into creating the most important document on modern construction projects.
Learning Objectives:
1. What makes a good BEP
2. What makes a bad BEP and how to avoid creating one
3. Who’s ugly…
Body:
This is a presentation that guarantees that the ‘B’ in BIM does not stand for boring. It’ll be packed to the rafters with Information and insights. Sharing our experience in Managing teams in the mystical art of crafting bespoke BIM Execution Plans.
This class is for the BIM virgins who are about to draft their very first BEP and want to know what to avoid. It is also for the BIM warriors (you might learn a trick or two) who have the battle scars from navigating the tricky landscape of scope, fees, time and technology.
David and Jason will attempt to bring some comic relief to deliver a truly insightful class, and hopefully avoid falling into what could be a very dry and detail orientated subject matter where even the presenters nod off.
Please come armed with questions and experiences from the field. We plan to openly discuss and debate the curly questions. Who knows, together we may just crack the secret on writing a BEP simply and the rest is history.
