Session 3.3
Modelling Building Services For Linear Infrastructure With Dynamo
Synopsis:
Learn how to model services that support linear infrastructure systems automatically with Dynamo. Based on the learnings from the Cross River Rail project in Brisbane, shortcut your modelling efforts through my learnings on the project.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how to build a Dynamo graph to model tunnel services from start to finish
2. Discover the functional and time impacts of various solutions to using Dynamo for linear modelling
3. Learn how to incorporate and validate consistent model metadata as you model
Body:
There is increasing pressure on project teams to model accurate representations of linear infrastructure projects and the (building) services that support them, but how exactly is it done? Modelling tunnel segments is not difficult, but piping, trays, fixtures, and fittings can be challenging.
In this presentation, we will examine various aspects of modelling the necessary support services, such as placing lights, hydrants, and other equipment in the correct locations, and look at other support tasks including a consistent approach to metadata input, element tagging on sheets and even automating north points on each drawing across the alignment. Find out about the Dynamo solution that provided highly detailed, accurate design models and metadata for one of Australia’s largest linear infrastructure projects.
