Synopsis:

With BIM Models come great potential for automation and data analysis. One of the most powerful and versatile tools to do so is Python! This double lab will introduce you to the basics of Python and show you how you can use it to do awesome things inside Dynamo.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify uses cases for Python
2. Learn the basics of Python scripting with some real life applications
3. Learn the best practices of Python scripting

Body:

Python is an awesome skill to have for any AEC professional. It helps you leverage data bases, automate tasks and dynamite your workflows! This class is an introduction to python for beginners who have never had or tried to use it before. It will give you a good understanding of basic python logic, python libraries, syntax, best practices to create clean and readable code, debugging, etc. All of this will be done using the Python node in Dynamo!
This lab is a kick-start to python development inside the Dynamo environment. It will introduce the general concepts you need to know as well as some of the most basic elements about python syntax and then move on to some practical examples of when and how to use Python.
