Synopsis:

Our industry is still early in its adoption of laser scanning, photogrammetry, and other reality capture technologies. Up to this point, the technology has been all about the As-Built, but as the cost of adoption comes down the jobsite is the new frontier for Reality Capture
Our industry is still early in its adoption of laser

Learning Objectives:

1. Learn how to implement manual and automated reality-capture-based quality control methods on the jobsite
2. Understand why & how robust quality control leads to better cost and schedule control on your projects
3. Describe how reality capture-based QA/QC methods can minimize project close-out and leads to better as-built documents

Body:

With the costs of reality capture dropping dramatically, new opportunities to leverage the technology are opening up every day. Once a one-and-done technology to facilitate the generation of as-builts; reality capture technology is evolving into a well-rounded tool that can benefit all phases of the design and construction process. So, while Scan-to-BIM is certainly not dead yet, reality capture can provide data-rich information into the entire life-cycle of the development of a digital twin, and help manage risk in the construction process along the way. Join this session for a deep dive into how reality capture benefits the installation, verification, and delivery of the physical building and its virtual reflection in the cloud.
