BIM and LCA Integration: Challenges and Opportunities

Synopsis:

This presentation focuses on introducing the potentials, opportunities, and latest scientific findings in the BIM and LCA integration space.

Body:

This session presents the key aspects of the building environmental assessment based on the Life Cycle Assessment method and its implementation in the design process in BIM.

The exposed contents cover a brief state-of-the art and the main challenges, barriers and opportunities that the building industry stakeholders should address. As well as a presentation about the ongoing projects (Spanish Research Projects and IEA EBC Annex 72) and major findings in this field.

Finally, several recommendations and possible solutions to guide future steps to follow.
