Session 2.5
10 Tips and Tricks for Deploying Dynamo Effectively!
Synopsis:
The deployment and use of Dynamo can assist teams in becoming more effective. The challenge with deploying Dynamo is that not all users are Dynamo wizards. In this presentation, I will go through a variety of useful tips that will help your team deploy Dynamo more effectively for inexperienced users.
Learning Objectives:
1. Understand options for creating a UI for designers to use.
2. Explore methods for managing Dynamo graphs within a network.
3. Explore Dynamo package management across multiple computers on your network.
4. Documentation practices for deploying Dynamo graphs within your organization.
Body:
Using Dynamo within our everyday design practice can be a lifesaver, in the sense that it provides users with the ability to take repetitive tasks and automate them. Dynamo also provides design teams with the ability to create more complex designs that may have been difficult to do manually. A challenge with using Dynamo is that not all designers are wizards with automation or don’t care to dig into programming to perform tasks. Therefore, Dynamo graphs need to be developed and deployed in a fashion that allows users to quickly interact with them and not require programming logic.
As part of deploying Dynamo graphs within an organization, documentation is critical. Documenting not only the process of how to use the graph but also documenting the design/development of the graph for future editing.
This presentation will go through a variety of tips and tricks that Dynamo graph developers within a design organization should consider when developing and deploying their graphs for designers to use. Additionally, I will review different practices for documenting our graphs.
