Session 2.1
Revit for Interiors
Synopsis:
This session will discuss ways to approach interiors such that all materials and information is linked to better utilize the power of Revit and its scheduling capabilities.
Learning Objectives:
1. Gain consistency with interiors modeling and finishes
2. Lean how to accurately model finishes
3. Lean to create Shared parameters to assist in scheduling
4. Learn the use of material populators
Body:
This session will present an approach to documenting finishes within Revit. Instead of using the out-of-the box procedure for calling out finishes, this session will demonstrate ways to incorporate more intelligence and automation into the process. Some of the items included in this approach that will be demonstrated in this session are linking finishes to the material database inside of Revit to help keep the information consistent; and working with room finishes to enable them to be consistently tagged in both plan and elevation views, as well as to appear properly in schedules. In addition, this session will discuss ways to model finishes and create finish schedules, hopefully taking away the need for Excel files.. At the end of this session, attendees will be able to improve on the out-of-the-box finish procedures.
