BILT Europe Abstracts

A few weeks from now we celebrated the dawn of a new decade; looking back, the last decade has truly marked the manifestation of the digital built environment. BIM is no longer a niche ‘just for geeks’, but a instrumental part of the our deliveries. We can be proud of the advantages we have made since modelling was primarily about modelling in 3D. True, the adaptation gap is still significant; but our ability to apply technology to create value for people and the planet is growing at an unprecedented pace.

And when you find yourselves quietly contemplating what the new year will bring; ask yourself; what inspirational, innovative insights can I share with my industry peers at BILT Europe during the European Digital Built Week. Maybe you cracked the code on deploying a new technology in your firm to unlock tangible value for your colleagues; maybe you were involved in a really cool project or applied new methodologies to organize the work streams in the office. In any case, we would love to read your thoughts; and that is why we are now open to receive abstracts for this years European events.

Before you head on over to our abstract submission page; allow me to share a few pointers 😊

An abstract is really just a short one-pager outlining your idea, so we can get a good understanding of what you want to present. Our conferences offer a range of formats, from group discussions, to computer assisted hands-on environments to regular presentations. In general, the minimum duration for a session is 75 minute; but you may need more time to adequately present, which is why double (150 minutes) sessions are also part of our ‘standard’ offering. If you are in doubt, then let’s talk, we have also in the past offered specific full-day masterclasses on very in-depth topics.

We have always included a wide range of topics in our program; and we will continue to do so; but there are always specific subjects we want to prioritize in a given year – and next year is no different.

Case Studies and Projects

Being part of the Digital Built Week experience is always about sharing passion and inspiration; and given the tremendous development we’ve seen in Spain in recent years; we would love to be able to pull together a track dedicated to sharing local stories and case studies of what worked and what didn’t work on your projects that delegates from other countries can be inspired by.

Sustainability

We are also a firm believer in pushing our industry to contribute solutions to the climate crisis our politicians seem so inadequate in addressing. Let our 2020 conference be the year where we show tangible solutions to real world problems; we want to see solutions that addresses the planetary footprint our industry has; no contribution is too small; no contribution is too ambitious. Our industry affects every individual on the planet; let’s do our part to turn the tide for future generations!
