Digital Built Week Europe Postponed
To the DBEI Community,
I hope this finds you well in these challenging times. It will come as no surprise that COVID-19 has and will impact DBEI events in Europe for 2020. Like many of you, our team has been monitoring what is a rapidly changing situation for some months now. We felt it was time to communicate with you and be transparent about our position.
While some parts of our society are beginning to open in baby-steps, none of us know how the situation will develop over the coming months. As such it is with a heavy heart that DBEI has made the decision to postpone all events within Digital Built Week Europe from 6 – 10 October 2020 to 11 – 15 May 2021. This being BILT Academy, DBEI Hackathon, BILT & BCS Europe.
In the interim, DBEI will be launching several exciting virtual events and webinars in 2020 to continue to deliver the same expertise, insights and knowledge to the AEC industry during these uncertain times. We also have some other exciting initiatives we are working on to continue to provide value to our community, which we look forward to sharing with you all shortly.
If you submitted an abstract for this year’s Digital Built Week Europe, you should also have received feedback on your submitted abstracts as we are hoping to transfer as many of these classes as possible to our new May 2021 dates. If you have not yet received feedback please get in touch with us via info@dbei.org.
We would like to thank all of you for your ongoing support and patience as we navigate through this difficult time. The team have been greatly touched by the numerous emails, messages and phone calls of support that we have received. As a global not-for profit, the organisation of events this size can be very challenging particularly in the current climate, and the very existence of DBEI wouldn’t be possible without the continued understanding and support from across the industry, so our gratitude and thanks go out to you.
Sincerely,
Marcus Fich
