Senior Architect - National BIM Coordinator
Ashley joined COX in 2012, as Architect for the Cairns Cultural Entertainment Precinct, and since then has been the Project Architect on several exemplary projects. Ashley holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture and is a Registered Architect in Queensland.
In his early career, Ashley was involved in the construction documentation and contract administration for the $110M Queensland Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, where he learned the art of finessing construction to achieve architectural design requirements. Subsequent projects like the award-winning Queen Elizabeth II Courts of Law and the Christchurch Justice and Emergency Services Precinct are examples of large and complex public architecture that he has helped design and deliver.
Ashley is a leader in Building Information Technology (BIM) processes and solutions. He has assisted in the successful delivery of over $10B in projects utilising BIM. He has presented at conferences,lectured and tutored at University of Queensland (UQ) and Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Synopsis:
Cairns Convention Centre Expansion is one of the first Queensland Government projects to require BIM as a deliverable since implementation in July 2019. We will explore this project in the context of evolving BIM deliverables and share some of the insights from concept through to construction on site.
