Lucy Guerin, MicrosoftSynopsis: A presentation and workshop on how to respond to tenders with BIM for Consultants and Contractors. The presentation will look at how to define the project deliverables, identifying, capturing and qualifying risks and how to manage Client ExpectationsLearning Objectives: 1. How to interrogate and identify the requirements for a BIM Tender
2. How to identify and reduce company risk, and address the risks within the submission
3. How to manage Client expectationsBody: One of the main challenges that consultants and contractors have on projects where BIM is being used is being able to clearly identify what they are required to delivery as part of their scope of works. This is often a result due to the BIM elements of the project not being scoped correctly or clearly defined or the consultant or contractors inexperience with BIM.
By not being able to clearly identify the project BIM requirements, has significant impact on the costing, resource allocation and deliverables submission impacts, with both parties of the contract incurring significant cost and unnecessary risk.
This presentation and workshop will clearly outline what contractors and consultants need to consider when preparing tenders for BIM projects and will discuss:
How to identify what the project deliverables are, from the Client brief.
What needs to be requested from the Client to be able to clearly understand the Clients expectations.
Resourcing and pricing
Capturing project risks
Tender qualifications which should considered for inclusion in the tender submission
