Matt Meredith

Auckland District Health Board
Digital Design & Delivery Manager

Matt Meredith is the Digital Design & Delivery Manager at the Auckland District Health Board. He sits on the BIM Auckland committee and is affiliated to the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers, Society of Digital Engineering (CIBSE SDE).
Prior to moving to New Zealand, he spent 12 years designing process plants with one of the world’s leading engineering design consultancies. This involved working on ground breaking turnkey projects in the FMCG, mining, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and defence sectors, throughout the EMEA region.
Up for a new challenge and adventure, Matt translated the skills and experience he acquired in heavy industry and applied them to building services. Trading ammonia plantrooms for air handling units, he transferred to Christchurch (and later Auckland) to take up the position of BIM Lead for the same global consultancy.
During this time, Matt oversaw the BIM strategy and implementation on numerous projects across a wide field in the built environment. This including educational, healthcare, residential, commercial and civic developments.
Today Matt heads up the charge for improved digital engineering workflows, practices and processes within the Auckland DHB. With healthcare infrastructure being critical to social development, Matt leverages the benefits of BIM and Digital Engineering to employ data-centric solutions around design, construction, maintenance and operation. At the end of the day BIM is all about the data and how best that can serve the lifecycle of a building.
