Based in Brisbane, Australia, Rod Bernard is the Resource and CAD Manager of the Structures Team for AECOM’s Civil Infrastructure business line. Rod was also the CAD Manager for the Gateway Upgrade Project, a $2.2 billion construction job which duplicated and upgraded the road bridge over the Brisbane River near Brisbane Airport. He has been involved with infrastructure design since 1988 and has seen the evolution from ink pens and drawing boards to CAD and is now part of the revolution to transform to Digital Engineering. Although he is new to Revit, he believes it will be a major player in the implementation of BIM in infrastructure.
