Tom Owens is an attorney and consultant in private practice who has been involved in the construction industry for over 35 years, twelve as an electrical contractor, the rest as a lawyer.  Tom received his law degree from the University of Washington in 1994.  Tom spent 13 years as General Counsel for NBBJ.  During that time he was involved with one of the earliest Integrated Project Delivery projects and discussion on other projects about how BIM could be shared reliably and with nominal risk to the designer.  Tom’s practice today includes drafting, reviewing and negotiating professional design services contacts and integrated project delivery contracts.  Tom is involved frequently in discussion about BIM sharing with his clients.  His clients include design firms with staffs from one to 300.
