Digital Built Week Americas 2022 | Adaptive Pattern-Based Form Creation for Topographical DevelopmentTiffiny Williams, IMAGINiT Technologies
Synopsis:Comprehension of development and incorporation of adaptive pattern-based family forms for
implementation and usage within a Revit model with concentration on utilizing these forms
for the the creation of topography. -Learning Objectives:1. Understanding of adaptive pattern-based families.
2Creation of adaptive families to create patterns that can be incorporated into the creation of an
adaptive pattern-based form family
3Building parameters within the adaptive pattern-based family form
4. Incorporation of an adaptive pattern-based form within a revit project utilized for the
development of topographyBody:Creating and understanding the usage and implementation of adaptive pattern-based forms that
can be used for an array of elements in a range of projects but I will concentrate on using these
nested adaptive pattern-based family forms as topography in AEC projects. Users can specify
dimensions of the form and are able to modify elevations at triangular points specified as instant
parameter elevations. These adaptive forms can be assigned materials and are parametric so if
an elevation is modified, the entire adaptive pattern-based form will update accordingly.
Various adaptive pattern-based shapes can be designed and nested into adaptive pattern-based
families in order to create a variety of shape forms such as triangular forms for topography such
as TIN surfaces that we see regularly in Civil 3D. We will review these unique pattern-based
forms and create various form type families to utilize within a revit project.Synopsis:
