Session 2.4
Lab: Archicad Properties Lab
Synopsis: Architects are becoming data managers and Archicads Properties are the best way to leverage data within your Building Models. Using Classification Systems and Expression Based Properties can at first seem confusing, but this hands-on lab will show you how simple bits of coding can make the data within you model come alive.Learning Objectives: 1. Learn how to use classifciation systems to control the availability of data Archicad Properties
2. Learn how the instance based properties of Elements differ from the system based properties of Building Materials.
3. Learn how existing element data can be manipulated using expressions to create new Property dataBody: At BiLT 2019 we explored the opportunities available be utilising Archicads expression-based properties and their relationship to Classification systems. With the introduction of Classification Systems in Archicad 21 and the development of expression based Archicad Properties in Archicad 22 and Building Material Properties in Archicad 23, there a now a new range of possibilities to automate the process of mapping logical data throughout an Archicad model.
This lab will lead users through the process of:
– Creating, assigning and managing classification systems within Archicad.
– Creating Archicad properties and linking their availability within elements
– Creating simple expressions to populate data into properties
– Create complex arrangements of expressions and properties to drive data throughout the model and schedules.
