Session 2.5
Now That’s Smart: Dashboards, Business Intelligence, and Project Data
Synopsis:
Utilizing the Cloud means you automatically have access to intelligent data – what can it tell you? Setting up dashboards to analyze your project data is only one part – the other is how to supplement what you’re gathering for more targeted analysis.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learn about native Autodesk Cloud Dashboards
2. Be able to implement PowerBI analytics for your project and account
3. Optimize the data you are collecting for better results
4. Understand how to read the data produced to make better business decisions
Body:
Business Intelligence might be the current buzz word, but it is a powerful tool for making better project decisions. No one likes doing a project post mortem, so let’s discover how to make it easier and more valuable.
Autodesk has developed Construction IQ – built-in machine learning and AI functionality. This tool can predict and manage risks to cost, quality, schedule, and safety. In this class, we’ll dive into what this is analyzing, how to better tailor the details, and how to read the story in the results – for every project phase. Analytics can save you stress instead of adding to it!
Data analysis isn’t just about what is going on in the project, but about forecasting trends and informed prioritization. By being able to see trends, you can course correct sooner while making fewer mistakes or plan for the expected issues with the data to back up the adjustments. Seeing project issues and being able to prioritize them prevents needing to spend all your time putting out project fires and instead helps you stay on top of risk and increase your quality with reduced overhead.
From the moment information is uploaded to the Cloud, data starts to be collected and analysis becomes possible. Find the issues in earlier project phases to save time, effort, and money. Each module has different tools that collect different information. For example, Document Management tracks files in the Review process and Issues while Design Collaboration tracks Packages and Design Issues.
Further, all of the data being gathered can be analyzed through PowerBI for more detail. PowerBI takes Document Management tracking further by analyzing transmittals and markups while expanding the analysis capabilities to refine time periods, project types, business units, and more.
The goal of this class is to give you the tools to analyze data you already are collecting, identify the best workflows to expand to get better data for your company, and become more proactive in risk mitigation. Get it right the first time.
