Session 2.3
Visualize your project on the site using InfraWorks
Synopsis:
InfraWorks is a quick and easy way to create visualizations of your site, combining publicly available data to create terrain, roads, waterways, etc. along with your design in both Civil 3D and Revit. This can then be shared via a video or the model directly with your project stakeholders.
Learning Objectives:
1. Create a model of the existing site
2. Bring your models into the site at the correct location
3. Add additional elements to make your presentation more interesting
4. Create a video or share the presentation with others
Body:
Many times, showing what your design is in context with the existing area, is a great way to convey your design intent and to appease those that are worried about what your project will look like when completed. Using InfraWorks, you’ll be able to create an existing model of the area around your site using publicly available data, add your proposed features created from programs such as Revit and Civil 3D, add additional features to the model to give more realism (such as cars, trees, light poles, etc.), and the share that information with your stakeholders. This can be done by creating a video flythrough of the project or sharing the 3D model directly with your stakeholders that they can access through a web browser.
