The DBEI 2019 North America Hackathon is ON!
Join us in Seattle on Sunday July 14th and Monday July 15th for two days of AEC exploration and innovation! For this inaugural year, the Hackathon theme is “Generative Design in Practice”, and we’re looking for teams to show how advanced computational processes support practical building decisions and how results can integrate into commercial delivery of the built environment.
We’re looking for building professionals, software developers, graphic designers, AEC students and anyone else who wants a hands-on experience to discover the future of generative design, no coding experience required. We’ll ask you a little bit about your background to try to help everyone get the best experience from the event.
How will it work?
Each hackathon group will be between 3-4 people, each group working on your respective project idea. You can either form a group prior to the event (maybe get a few of your friends or colleagues together!) or sign up individually and join a group on site!
Either way if you’re interested please make sure you submit a Hackathon application by the 27th of June. If you have already formed a group of people, make sure you each submit an application!
The committee will then review your application to ensure we are getting an even cross-section of skills and levels as we only have limited spots available!
You will receive a notification within 7 days of applying, if your application is successful. After which you’ll be able to pay the $100 Registration Fee (or $50 if you’re a student), which includes food and drinks for the two days.
If you have a specific idea for your hackathon group that you want to pitch let us know either during the application process or at the event, otherwise you can just sign up and join a team when you arrive.
Whether you have an idea of how things should work in AEC, want to try out your visual programming or coding skills with a team, or want to bring requirements for generative design workflows from your business, we’re interested in your contribution. You bring the laptop, we’ll bring the coffee and meals, and perhaps a couple of surprise guests to help you get going. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
