Session 1.3
Where is my project?
Synopsis:
On most projects, there is an issue with making sure that all models are located correctly.
This issue can be multiplied if the project has multiple stakeholders using different types of authoring software and platforms for coordination.
This session will help you to understand the challenges of locating your projects and provide you with methods to deal with those challenges.
Join this session to find out where your project actually is.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how to establish workflows in your project to coordinate multiple stakeholders using different software tools so all of the models are located correctly.
2. Find out the limitations of Revit’s import and export options that affect the model location including IFC and DWG.
3. Learn how your location setup affects your sunlight analysis and why you may be doing it wrong.
Body:
Each project needs a location. This location allows your models to be positioned correctly within the virtual and physical world. This session will help you to understand the challenges of locating your projects and provide you with methods to deal with those challenges.
During this session will cover the basics of different coordinate systems used in construction. We will go through the setup of Revit Shared Coordinates and the challenges of using these coordinates with other software tools. Learn how your location setup affects your sunlight
analysis and why you may be doing it wrong. Learn how to establish workflows in your project to coordinate multiple stakeholders using different software tools so all of the models are located correctly.
Find out the limitations of Revit’s import and export options that affect the model location including IFC and DWG. Finally, learn about the limitations of coordination platforms like Aconex, in regards to the coordinates setup.
