Automation and Computational BIM Leader
A structural modeler at heart, Brenden has been working in the AEC industry for over 14 years, heavily involved with BIM/Revit development and implementation with GHD for the past 10 years. His current role as digital delivery lead, Middle East, consists of implementing BIM and automated workflows across a number of business streams. He also manages and implements Dynamo workflows within GHD globally. He has a passion for computational design, automation, and, more recently, generative design.

The presentation will explore GHD’s journey of Automation through to Generative Design. Topics covered will include:
Dynamo Implementation, Dynamo Graph Management,Dynamo Node and Source Code Management, An example of linking Dynamo, Civil 3D, Infraworks, Revit and Power BI to streamline Urban Planning workflows, An example of, Generative Design. This presentation would be of interest for BIM Managers, Technology Managers, Dynamo enthusiasts and Exec’s interested in business efficiencies via automation.Brenden Picton, GHDNot ApplicableBILTCoding and CustomisationNon Vendor Specific
This class will look at an internal project GHD recently undertook to establish the viability of using machine learning for the automatic placement of tags using several machine learning algorithms. We will look into 2 different algorithms, convolutional neural network approach using tagged images, and a tabular approach for the semantic data of the tags. We’ll step through the problem state, how we captured the data and then the outcomes/accuracy of the algorithms that we tested.
