Pedro Santiago is an architect, professor and researcher on the themes of sustainable design and construction, ecology, biomimetics, natural environment, design and digital design with parametric and generative processes.
He began to collaborate with other professionals in the field of architecture and design as a student. He founded PSPV Arquitectos in 2006 where he develops works in the areas of architecture and design at the most varied levels of intervention and typologies.
Professor at the Universidade Fernando Pessoa in the courses of Architecture and Urbanism and Civil Engineering, he teaches the subjects of project design, computer graphics, digital tools and sustainable construction. He also develops research work in the Laboratory of Studies and Projects.
Doctorate at the Polytechnic University of Valencia in the Department of Architectural Constructions under the theme of bioclimatic architecture.
With authorship and collaboration in large-scale projects in the most varied areas and typologies, from housing to hospitals, he gathered a vast experience reconciling theory and research with practice until the implementation and construction of concepts and solutions.

BILT Europe 2022, Valencia | Optimization of sustainable design through Archicad and GrasshopperPedro Santiago, PSPV Arquitectos
Synopsis:
Sustainability is a fundamental principle for building design. The first stages of the design process are crucial for the overall outcome as far as sustainability is concerned. The BIM methodology can incorporate parametric, generative, and optimization tools to achieve this goal through data. Archicad and Grasshopper combined to create the workflow needed to solve sustainable issues without compromise.
